Abstract

Introduction: This research investigates Neuroeducation as an emerging and integrative discipline within contemporary science, as well as its presence and application in teaching practice. Objective: To characterize teacher training in Neuroeducation and its application in the 5th grade of the "Andrés Santana" Educational Institution in the municipality of Limonar, Matanzas Province, Cuba. Method: A descriptive study with a predominantly qualitative approach was conducted. A case study was applied in the 5th grade of the aforementioned educational institution, which required document review, classroom observation, surveys, and interviews with 100% of the teachers in that grade. Results: Limitations were revealed in the theoretical understanding of Neuroeducation and its application in the classroom, conditioned by deficiencies in initial and ongoing teacher training on the subject. This is also related to the lack of institutional initiatives to promote professional development and the planning of methodological work related to Neuroeducation. Conclusion: It is necessary to design theoretical and methodological strategies that promote the ongoing professional development of teachers on this topic, along with facilitating their application in the classroom through institutional initiatives.
